Consumption of sorghum in Swaziland is expected to remain stable over the next five years, rising to 3,000 metric tons by 2026. The country ranked 47th globally in 2021, behind Djibouti with 3,000 metric tons. India, China and Ethiopia were the top three consumers, in that order. Swazi production of sorghum is also predicted to rise, from 1,050 metric tons in 2021 to 1,130 metric tons by 2026, an increase of 1.3% annually on average. This growth follows a 0.9% yearly rise since 1966. In 2021, Swaziland placed 88th globally, behind Taiwan with 1,050 metric tons. Nigeria, Ethiopia and Mexico were the top three producers.
