Since 2017, consumption has risen by 1.3% each year. The top four consumers of the grain are India, China, Ethiopia and Nigerien. Meanwhile, supply of Nigerien Sorghum is expected to hit 2.4 million metric tons by 2026, up from 2.1 million metric tons in 2021. This would represent a year-on-year growth of 2.1%. Since 1966, production has increased 3.1% annually. Nigeria, Ethiopia and Mexico are the top three producers, followed by Nigerien.
