Malian consumption of sorghum is projected to reach 1.03 million metric tons by 2026, up from 953,000 metric tons in 2021. This growth, at an average of 1.3% year on year, has been slowly increasing since 2017 at a rate of 0.5% year on year. Mali was ranked 6th in 2021, with Burkina Faso overtaking them to take the 5th spot. India, China and Ethiopia occupied the 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions respectively. Malian production of sorghum is expected to reach 1.71 million metric tons by 2026, up from 1.57 million metric tons in 2021. This growth, at a compound annual growth rate of 1.5%, has been steadily increasing since 1966 at a rate of 2.4% year on year. Mali was ranked 10th in 2021, with Burkina Faso being ranked 9th. Nigeria, Ethiopia and Mexico took the 2nd, 3rd and 4th spots respectively.
