Austrian pulses production is projected to decline significantly over the next five years. By 2028, the country's output is expected to fall to approximately 17,000 metric tons, down from around 30,000 metric tons in 2023. This represents an average annual decrease of about 9%. The trend of decreasing production is not new for Austria. Since 1966, the nation's supply of pulses has consistently dropped, with an average year-on-year decline of 7.8%. In the global ranking for 2023, Austria stood at 98th place. Somalia surpassed Austria with a production of 30,000 metric tons. Leading the ranking were Myanmar, Canada, and China, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively.
