Since 1966, the supply of pulses in the Maldives has seen a steady increase, growing at an average yearly rate of 1.6%. Despite this progress, the Maldives was ranked 156th globally in pulses production in 2023. Puerto Rico, producing around 108 metric tons, edged out the Maldives in the same year. Leading the global rankings were Myanmar, Canada, and China, holding the second, third, and fourth positions respectively.
