Burmese pulses production is projected to reach approximately 8.5 million metric tons by 2028, increasing from around 7.6 million metric tons in 2023. This marks an annual growth rate of 1.8%. Historically, since 1966, Burma’s supply of pulses has been rising at a yearly rate of 2.7%. In 2023, Myanmar ranked second in global pulses production, following India, which led with 7.6 million metric tons. Other major producers in the ranking included Myanmar, Canada, and China, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively.
