Lebanon's production of pulses is projected to reach approximately 14,500 metric tons by 2028, according to recent forecasts. This marks a steady compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 0.8% from the 13,800 metric tons recorded in 2023. Since 1966, however, Lebanon's supply of pulses has experienced a slight decline, averaging a 0.7% decrease each year. Despite this, the country ranked 113th in the world for pulses production in 2023. In a notable shift, New Zealand has surpassed Lebanon, equaling the latter’s 2023 production figure of 13,800 metric tons. Leading the global rankings for pulses production are Myanmar, Canada, and China, which hold the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively.
