India, Vietnam and Nepal respectively came in numbers 2, 3 and 4 in this ranking. Chinese tea consumption is set to reach 1.8 million metric tons by 2026, up 0.5% annually on average since 2017. India, Brazil and Argentina are the next biggest consumers of tea. Meanwhile, Chinese tea production is also predicted to grow, reaching 2.9 million metric tons by 2026. This figure is 1.1% higher than in 2021, and 0.9% higher than in 2017. India, Vietnam and Nepal come in second, third and fourth in terms of production.
