The number of ATMs in the UK is forecast to rise to almost 69,000 by 2026. This represents a mere 0.1% annual rise, with the figure having actually fallen by 0.6% on average since 2012. In 2021, the UK was ranked 10th globally, overtaken by Canada which had 68,000 ATMs. India, Russia and Brazil were ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
