China is projected to remain the world's largest fabric importer and exporter by 2026. Imports are expected to total around $1.44 billion, down 1.5% year-on-year. This is a reversal of the 1.6% year-on-year decline registered since 1997. Indonesia was the top fabric importer in 2021, followed by China, the United States, and Japan. Exports are predicted to hit $24 billion by 2026, growing at a CAGR of 2.9%. Since 1997, Chinese supply has increased 7% year-on-year. South Korea, Italy, and Germany were the top three fabric exporters in 2021.
