German imports and exports of fabrics are expected to see a slight decrease in the next five years. Imports of fabrics into Germany are projected to reach $464.8 million by 2026, down 0.3% annually from 2021's total of $472.6 million. Since 1996, German demand for fabrics has increased by 0.2% a year. In 2021, Morocco overtook Germany to become the 12th biggest importer of fabrics, with Germany in 13th place. Indonesia, China and the United States were the top three importers. Exports of fabrics from Germany are set to drop by 1.1% a year to $778.9 million in 2026, from $830.7 million in 2021. Since 1996, German supply of fabrics has decreased by 0.3% a year. In 2021, Italy moved ahead of Germany to become the fourth biggest exporter of fabrics, with Germany in fifth place. South Korea, Italy and Germany were the top three exporters.
