Exports of fabrics from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are forecast to drop to $40 million by 2026, a 3.3% decrease on the 2021 figure of $49 million. The UAE has seen a 5.9% year-on-year decrease in exports since 2012, and was 34th in the global ranking in 2021, behind Belarus’s $49 million. South Korea, Italy and Germany took the top three spots in the ranking. Imports of fabrics into the UAE are projected to decrease to $46 million by 2026, a 10.2% reduction from the 2021 figure of $85 million. The UAE has experienced a 9.5% year-on-year drop in imports since 2012, and was in 49th place in the global ranking in 2021, behind Paraguay’s $85 million. Indonesia, China and the United States were the top three countries in the ranking.
