The demand for mobile subscriptions has risen steadily since 2000, with an average year-on-year growth of 8.8%. The country currently stands at number 39 in the global rankings, with 44.1 million subscriptions. It has overtaken Ghana, which has the same amount of subscriptions. India, the US and Indonesia come in second, third and fourth respectively.
