Jordanian imports of anthracite coal dropped significantly in 2018. According to recent statistics, the country imported 1.5 million kilograms of the coal, a 14 percent decrease from the 1.7 million kilograms in 2017. This was a 51.1 percent drop compared to 1999. Colombia overtook Jordan as the leading anthracite importer in 2018 with 1.5 million kilograms. South Korea, Japan, and Russia followed in that order.
