Saudi Arabia's anthracite imports are set to reach 94 million kilograms by 2026 – an increase of 2.6% each year on average. Since 1996, the country's demand for anthracite has grown by an average of 5.6% a year. In 2021, Saudi Arabia was the world's 30th-largest importer, with 80 million kilograms. Austria took the top spot, with South Korea, Japan and Russia in second, third and fourth place respectively. In 2018, Saudi Arabia's anthracite exports plummeted to just 1,500 kilograms – down 97.4% from the 58,000 kilograms exported in 2017.
