Malagasy malaria prevalence is set to reach 1.5 million cases by 2026, up from 1.2 million in 2021. That's an average annual increase of 3.5%. Since 2005, demand has risen 13.6% a year on average. In 2021, Madagascar was the 22nd worst-affected country, with 1.2 million cases. Sudan overtook it to take the top spot, followed by Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Mozambique in second, third and fourth place respectively.
