By 2026, malaria cases in Guyana are expected to drop to around 15,000, according to a recent report. This is a 1.5% decrease from the 2021 figure of 16,080. Since 2005, the number of malaria cases in Guyana has been increasing by an average of 8.6% each year. The country ranked 53rd in 2021, behind Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, and Mozambique, who respectively held the top four spots.
