Child mortality in Mozambique is projected to decrease from 77,110 deaths in 2021 to 69,010 by 2026, with an average annual decrease of 1.8%. Since 1977, the rate of mortality has decreased by 1.5% per year. Nigeria topped the 2021 ranking, followed by India, Pakistan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Meanwhile, immunisation coverage of children aged 12-23 months in Mozambique is expected to increase from 90% in 2021 to 93% by 2026, with an average annual growth rate of 0.4%. Since 1986, the rate of immunisation has grown by 0.5% annually. Zambia was ahead in 2021, followed by Greece, Mongolia and Latvia.
