Child mortality in Afghanistan is projected to drop by 3.1% each year between 2021 and 2026. In 2021, there were an estimated 56,110 deaths, ranking the country 19th in the world. Uganda had the highest number of deaths with 67,380. India, Pakistan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo were the next highest, with 2nd, 3rd and 4th place respectively. Immunisation coverage of Afghan children aged between 12 and 23 months is expected to rise by 0.6% annually between 2021 and 2026. In 2021, it was 68%, ranking the country 171st in the world. Cameroon was the highest, with 68%. Greece, Mongolia and Latvia followed, in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place respectively.
