Indonesia is expected to experience a decline in child mortality over the next five years. In 2021, the country had 104,000 deaths, placing it seventh in the world ranking. China had the highest number of deaths, followed by India, Pakistan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Immunisation coverage in Indonesia is also set to increase. In 2021, 86% of children aged 12-23 months were immunised, putting Indonesia in 134th place. Romania had the highest number, followed by Greece, Mongolia and Latvia. Over the five-year period, coverage is expected to rise by 0.2 points per year on average. Since 1986, coverage has increased by 0.5 points annually.
