Malagasy container traffic is expected to reach 233,180 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) by 2026, according to a recent report. This is up 1.8% annually from the 208,020 TEU reported in 2021. In the past nine years, demand has risen by 8.4% each year on average. Last year, the country ranked 101st worldwide. Venezuela was ahead of Malagasy with 208,020 TEU. The United States, Singapore and South Korea ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
