Peruvian container traffic volume is on the rise, set to reach 3.1 million Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units by 2026. This is a 2.2% increase year-on-year, building on the 3.3% growth since 2005. Peru currently ranks 41 in terms of container traffic volume, having been overtaken by Bangladesh in 2021 with 2.7 million Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units. The United States, Singapore and South Korea follow closely behind in second, third and fourth place respectively.
