China is set to become the biggest container trafficker in the world by 2026, with a projected 294 million Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs). This would be a 5.2% increase from 2005, and a 2.3% year-on-year growth from 2021's 255 million TEUs. The US, Singapore and South Korea follow China in the ranking of container traffic volume, with the US taking the lead among the three.
