Korean container traffic is on the rise. By 2026, it is expected to reach 33 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) – up from the 29.4 million TEUs in 2021. This is a growth rate of 1.6% per year, which is slightly below its 2005-2021 average of 2.2%. In 2021, the United States was the world leader in container traffic, followed by Singapore, South Korea and other countries. South Korea ranked fourth, with 29.4 million TEUs.
