This marks an increase from around 156,000 TEUs in 2023, reflecting a modest annual growth rate of 0.7%. However, this growth comes against a backdrop of declining demand over the past decade. Since 2012, Namibia has witnessed a year-on-year decrease of 2.4% in container traffic volume. In 2023, Namibia ranked 101st globally in container traffic, with Gabon surpassing it at the same volume of around 156,000 TEUs. Leading the rankings were Slovenia, the United States, and Singapore, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively.
