This represents a modest annual decrease of 0.2% in compound annual growth rate (CAGR). Since 2012, Iceland's container traffic demand has been on a downward trajectory, falling by an average of 3.5% per year. In the global ranking for 2023, Iceland holds the 92nd position. El Salvador has recently surpassed Iceland, also recording around 295,000 TEUs. Leading the rankings are Slovenia, the United States, and Singapore, occupying the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively.
