This is higher than the 8.7% average yearly growth rate since 2005. In 2021, Greece was ranked 27th in the world, with Egypt overtaking it at 6.1 million TEUs. The United States, Singapore and South Korea were the top three countries in this ranking. Container handling at Greek ports is also expected to reach 7.5 million TEUs by 2026, a 3% growth rate from 2021. Since 2005, the country's market grew at a rate of 6.5% annually. In 2021, the UK overtook Greece, who was ranked 7th, with 6.1 million TEUs. Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium were the next three countries in this ranking.
