Mauritian goat production is set to drop by 3.6% a year on average, reaching 1,850 heads by 2026. It has been in decline since 1966, shrinking 3.2% each year. In 2021, Mauritius ranked 143rd in the world, behind Antigua and Barbuda with 2,290 heads. China, Nigeria and Pakistan came in the top four spots.
