Italy's art imports are set to reach almost $247 million by 2026, up from $209 million in 2021. This is a 2.3% increase year-on-year, with demand having risen 15.5% since 1999. In 2021, Italy ranked 13th in the global art import rankings, behind Austria who imported $209 million. The United Kingdom, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates came in second, third and fourth. Meanwhile, Italy is expected to export $424 million worth of art by 2026, up from $385 million in 2021. This is an average annual increase of 1.1%, with supply having risen 2.4% since 1999. In 2021, Italy ranked 8th for art exports, behind Singapore who exported $385 million. The United Kingdom, Switzerland and France were the next most successful exporters, in second, third and fourth place.
