Brazil's polystyrene exports are forecast to drop by an average of 2.5% year-on-year to just over 1.2 million kilograms by 2026, down from 1.4 million kilograms in 2021. This would bring the country to its lowest level since 1994, when the Slovak Republic overtook Brazil in the rankings. China, the Netherlands and France were the top three exporters in 2021. Meanwhile, Brazilian imports of polystyrene are expected to grow by 0.7% year-on-year to just over 35 million kilograms by 2026, up from 33.6 million kilograms in 2021. This would be the highest level since 1994, when Vietnam overtook Brazil in the rankings. China, the United States and Germany were the top three importers in 2021.
