Peru's import of polystyrene is set to reach 12 million kilograms by 2026, up from 10 million kilograms in 2021, with an average growth rate of 2.3% each year. Since 1997, demand in Peru has increased annually by 1%. Meanwhile, exports of polystyrene have plummeted. In 2018, Peru shipped nearly 12,000 kilograms of the material, down from 19,400 kilograms in 2017 – a decrease of 38.1%. Since 1999, the country's supply has dropped by 11.5% each year. In 2018, Peru was ranked 61st in the world for exports of polystyrene, with Israel coming in ahead at 12,000 kilograms. China, the Netherlands, and France were numbers 2, 3, and 4 in the ranking, respectively.
