Salvadoran polystyrene imports are set to see a slight decline over the coming years. In 2021, the figure is projected to be around 2.3 million kilograms, before dropping to 2.2 million kilograms by 2026. Since 1999, demand for the product has decreased by an average of 6.7%. On the other hand, exports of polystyrene from El Salvador have experienced a substantial increase. In 2017, the figure was 6,400 kilograms, nearly four times higher than the 1,700 kilograms recorded in 2016.
