This represents an average annual growth of 4.6% since 1993, when imports were only 1.5 million kilograms. In 2021, Portugal was the 27th largest importer of propylene, with Thailand taking the lead at 7.5 million kilograms. Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Meanwhile, propylene exports from Portugal are expected to drop slightly to 133 million kilograms by 2026, down from 136 million in 2021. Since 1993, exports have decreased by 4.1% on average per year. In 2021, Portugal ranked 13th in the list of largest exporters, with Canada at the top with 136 million kilograms. Japan, the Netherlands and the United States occupied the next three places.
