Bulgaria is set to see its propylene exports rise over the next five years. In 2021, they reached 20.9 million kilograms, 2.3% higher than the year before. Since 2001, exports have dropped 8.4% annually on average. Bulgaria fell to 25th in the world rankings in 2021, behind Singapore in the top spot. Japan, the Netherlands and the US followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. Meanwhile, imports have been on the decline. In 2018, they stood at 39,000 kilograms, a drop of 71.2% compared to 2017. Since 2006, imports have gone down 24% each year. In 2018, Bulgaria was 42nd in the world rankings, with Bahrain ahead of them at 39,000 kilograms. Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands were second, third and fourth respectively.
