Austria’s styrene import is expected to reach an estimated 256.2 million kilograms by 2026, rising from 223.2 million kilograms in 2021. This would be an average annual growth rate of 2.1% since 1999. Austria ranked 9th in 2021, with the Netherlands taking the lead at 223.2 million kilograms. South Korea, India and Mexico ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Austria’s styrene export, however, fell dramatically in 2018 to 57,500 kilograms, down 49% from 2017’s 112,720 kilograms. Since 1999, Austrian styrene exports have declined by 53% year-on-year. Austria ranked 34th in 2018, with Sweden taking the lead at 57,500 kilograms. The Netherlands, Saudi Arabia and South Korea ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
