This follows a similar trend since 1965, when the country saw a 1.4% yearly decline in fixed-line subscriptions. In 2021, Canada was ranked 15th in the world with 12.8 million subscriptions, with Italy slightly ahead at 14 million. The U.S., Japan and Germany rounded out the top four with higher numbers of subscriptions.
