Global fixed-line subscribers are set to drop by 1.4% a year on average, reaching 824 million by 2026. This marks a decrease of 2.4% since 1971. China leads the way, with 186.7 million subscribers in 2021. The US, Japan and Germany come in second, third and fourth, respectively. Iraq saw an impressive increase of 15.6%, while Sierra Leone experienced the more dramatic decrease of 59.3% since 1971.
