Mauritania's health expenditure is on the rise. It is projected to hit $219 per person by 2026. This follows an average yearly growth of 1.7% since 2005. In 2021, the country ranked 144th in health expenditure, with $196 per person. Zimbabwe was ahead of Mauritania, with $197 per person. Switzerland, Norway and Germany were the top three countries in the ranking, with expenditure per person of $8,744, $6,072 and $5,814 respectively.
