Malawian metal imports are on the rise. The country is on track to hit 0.4 million metric tons by 2026, growing at an average rate of 2.7% a year since 1975. In 2021, Malawi ranked 114th in the world, just behind Benin, which imported 0.3 million metric tons. Japan, South Korea, and Germany took the top three spots in the rankings.
