Canadian metal imports are set to reach 54 million metric tons by 2026, according to a recent report. Imports have grown steadily since 1975, increasing by roughly 2% each year. In 2021, Canada was the ninth largest importer of metals, with 49 million metric tons. Italy topped the ranking, followed by Japan, South Korea and Germany.
