Maltese Metal Import is projected to hit 310,000 metric tons by 2028, up from 300,000 metric tons in 2023. This forecast represents an average annual growth rate of 0.5%. Since 1975, however, the country's demand for metal imports has seen a sharp decline, decreasing by an average of 7.2% each year. In the global ranking for 2023, Malta held the 34th position, just behind Cyprus, which imported 300,000 metric tons. Leading the European rankings, France, Italy, and Spain secured the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions, respectively.
