Latvian metal imports are projected to climb to 1.63 million metric tons by 2028, up from 1.58 million metric tons in 2023. This represents a modest annual growth rate of 0.5%. Since the turn of the millennium, however, Latvia has seen a 1.6% annual decrease in metal demand. As of 2023, Latvia holds the 31st spot in global rankings for metal imports. Leading the pack just ahead of Latvia is Estonia, also with 1.58 million metric tons. France, Italy, and Spain occupy the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively, in the metal import rankings.
