Since 2015, Macedonia has seen a steady increase in demand for metal imports, with an average yearly growth of 3.1%. In the 2023 rankings, Macedonia placed 27th, just behind Lithuania, which also reported imports of about 2.6 million metric tons. Leading the rankings were France, Italy, and Spain, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively.
