Azerbaijan's metal imports are expected to decline slightly by 2026. According to figures released this week, the country is forecast to import 1.13 million metric tons that year, compared to 1.14 million metric tons in 2021. On average, that's a 0.1% year-on-year decrease. Since 2001, Azerbaijani demand for metals has been growing at a rate of 0.7% year-on-year. In 2021, the country ranked 92nd in the world, behind Panama, which imported 1.14 million metric tons. Japan, South Korea and Germany followed in second, third and fourth place respectively.
