Sweden's renewable energy generation is projected to experience significant growth over the next few years. According to recent forecasts, the country's renewable energy output is expected to reach approximately 60 terawatt-hours (TWh) by 2028. This marks an increase from around 46 TWh in 2023, reflecting an average annual growth rate of 4.2%. Since 1975, Sweden's renewable energy supply has seen a notable rise, averaging an annual growth of 9.5%. In the 2023 rankings, Sweden secured the seventh position in renewable energy generation. This was just behind the Netherlands, which reported a generation of 46 TWh. Other leading nations in the renewable energy sector include the United Kingdom, Spain, and France, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively. These countries continue to be front-runners in expanding their renewable energy capacities.
