The demand for iron in Hungary is set to grow 1.8% annually on average over the next five years, reaching 6.3 million metric tons by 2026. Since 2000, Hungary's iron import has increased 6.6% year on year. In 2021, Hungary's iron imports reached 5.7 million metric tons, making it the 13th largest importer in the world. Romania came in at number one with 5.7 million metric tons, while Italy, France and the Netherlands were ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. On the other hand, Hungary's iron export is set to grow at a CAGR of 1% annually over the next five years, reaching 3.2 million metric tons by 2026. Since 2000, Hungary's iron supply has increased 4.8% year on year. In 2021, Hungary's iron exports totaled 2.9 million metric tons, ranking it 17th in the world. Portugal topped the list with 2.9 million metric tons, followed by Sweden, France and Italy in second, third and fourth place respectively.
