Colombian Weapon Imports are projected to decline slightly over the next five years, reaching approximately $110 million by 2028. This marks a decrease from the $115 million recorded in 2023, translating to an average annual reduction rate of 0.7%. Despite this downward trend, Colombian demand for weapons has surged by 48.3% annually since 1965. In the global arena, Colombia occupied the 48th position in weapon imports for 2023, trailing behind Nigeria, which reported similar figures of around $115 million. The leading positions in this ranking were held by Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, taking the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th spots respectively. On the export front, Colombia's figures have seen a more dramatic shift. The country exported $4 million worth of weapons in 2020, a significant drop from the $10 million exported in 2019. This represents a steep 60% decline year-over-year.
