Germany's weapon imports plummeted to $111 million in 2023, a stark 39% decline from $182 million in 2022. Despite this drop, the country's demand for weapons has surged by more than 51% annually since 1965. In the latest rankings, Germany landed at 49th place, just behind Colombia, which also reported $111 million in imports. Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait secured the top three positions, respectively. On the export front, Germany's weapon sales are projected to hit approximately $1.6 billion by 2028, up from around $1.4 billion in 2023. This represents an average annual growth rate of 2.5%. Historically, German weapon exports have seen a steady increase of nearly 5% each year since 1965.
