Kyrgyzstan is set to experience an increase in weapons imports over the next five years. The country is projected to reach $15.7 million in 2026, a 3.6% year-on-year rise from 2021. Demand from Kyrgyzstan has increased 6.7% year-on-year since 2020. In 2021, Kyrgyzstan ranked 92nd in the world for weapon imports, overtaken by Nicaragua, which stood at $12.5 million. Saudi Arabia, Australia and South Korea were ranked second, third and fourth respectively. From 2016 to 2017, weapons exports from Kyrgyzstan remained stable at $5 million.
