Historically, Angola has experienced a decline in its arms demand, with a year-on-year decrease of 23.8% since 1979. Despite this downturn, the country ranked 56th in weapon imports for 2023. During the same period, Uzbekistan surpassed Angola with imports totaling nearly $70 million. Globally, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait secured the second, third, and fourth spots respectively in the arms import rankings.
